i finished that book. my fucking good, it was so bad.
i should have know, i got it with two other books, there were high praises for the other two, not a peep about this one. i pray to god the author was being ironic. i have rarely come across a more unsympathetic character. i felt nothing but loathing towards this woman, she was a whiny, truculent, selfish, petty woman. god, i hated that book. phew, needed to get that off my chest. just for information here is the amazon link for the worst book i’ve read all year.

i left the office early and spent an interesting evening scouting two beach locations, the first was called 100 steps and required a trek down (duh) quite a lot steps, the beach is beautiful but the concept of trekking myself, photographer, assistant, makeup artist, 8 models including 4 children and equipment down and back up (an aside, i need to start working out, just thinking about climbing back up those stairs has me breathless) does not fill me with a great deal of joy, i keep envisioning someone’s child slipping down the stairs. how do i tell a parent, well sorry, they fell. i don’t think so.
on the other beach the tide was coming in, it wasn’t as pretty but more accessible and i paid the price for my little jaunt, my little pleather slip-ons got soaked and my jeans are hanging in the shower drying. it was fun and in the gallery is a picture of the sunset from along the north coast road, it was damp so it was very misty. but that picture alone was worth the trip.
i’m about the check the links, i had not the use of my computer this evening my lord and mistress (my daughter) was busy on the machine.

so i had to face the third degree this morning as to why d wasn’t coming back to work. how do i tell my boss that we both think you’re a cheap fuckwit, who has no idea how to manage people and still keep my job?
no worries, i didn’t have to. what i do have to do is come up with a schedule and layouts for an indoor food shoot on wednesday and an outdoor shoot on friday. bearing in mind, it’s the rainy season and it’s a holiday and if the weather’s good it’s going fucking well impossible to find a beach without masses of people.
still i hold on, i’m trying not to flip out and have a hysterical outburst, i’m taking more me time. went downstairs had lunch, reading a book, i brought. new book – does my bum look big in this? (i don’t know if it’s my subconcious bad mood or if the book is really that annoying) but i really just want to smack the main character upside her head.
preproduction meetings this afternoon as well as a site visit to the beach. not as much fun as it sounds, particularly in light of all the other stuff that i need to get done before wednesday. this is a short week here, last working day of the week is wednesday, i may need to come into the office on thursday to reorganise/restructure the setup to better suit my needs.

i stayed up til the wee hours of this morning talking to vic and im not feeling particularly tired, in fact i feel rejuvenated. its usually like this when were together, we can stay up for days on end and still be bright eyed and bushy tailed. im going to go in early to do some actual time and people management. lets see how i can get all the stuff i need to get done with the resources at hand (oh wow – management speak, i may actually be good at this)

i’m waiting for vic to get home and log on, so she can tell me how her weekend with the chicas in nashville was. vicarious thrills.
i’m not looking forward to work tomorrow, this is a short week and the pile of shit that has to be done is growing daily. my boss is familiar with the sucker (ahem – artist) he used to work there before. i never worked with him before but apparently he’s really slow, but at this point, i need someone that can finish up whatever i start.
talking to d today, made me realise how much i’m just marking time at this job. i need to call barbados this week and find out what is going on.

yesterday was lovely, i joined the library. didn’t borrow anything though, i got my hair washed and basically did fuck all for the entire day. meaning all the shit i was supposed to do yesterday, i have to do today.
go see the children (hey i got gifts to collect), scout locations and get some ink. all of this around the canadian grand prix today. got to have some constants in my life (and i use the term loosely.)
