it’s almost five am, i’ve just got in from the pride party and what do i do? log on of course. how sad is that?
the party was ok, not great, just ok. definitely not a poolside party. i had fun danced a little, had a strange man try to pick me up, but it was a gay fete, what else did i expect. it was a bit of an ego boost, until he started to get fresh. why is it a dance has to turn into something more, this is whole new millennium, you don’t try to get intimate with someone you just met at a party. how unsafe and classless is that? even if i were interested that would be a major no no. it saddens me to think that this sort of behaviour still exists.
i still had a good time. poolside is having a party at the end of august, but my usual riding partner, k, isn’t going to be here. who will defend my honour.
anyway, i’m going to apply for this job that monster just presented in my mailbox and head off to bed. hopefully i’ll get up in time for the start of the french grand prix. i slept through the beginning of last week’s race and missed most of it.
just got an email from vic. she’s alive and well.
i feel a lot better now. so i’m out. party starts at 11, k is supposed to be here in 30 minutes, pre party drinks and then on with the show. i don’t expect to be home before 5am.
i am so going to pay for this tomorrow. there is an 80s party on the night after vic gets here, i’m debating if i want to share her with the world or keep to myself a little longer.
i’m off for drinking and dancing and planning suitable punishments.

one of the things that i am is a worry wart. when i don’t know where vic is, i worry about her. it’ ms not a lack of trust thing, it’s the “she’s the best thing to happen in my life and i’d be devastated if anything happened to her” school of thought. and i’m mr. worse case scenario. pick a scenario and i’ll come up with the worst possible train of thought and follow it to it’s logical conclusion.
this may help in some situations but more often than not, it’s a complete disaster. i haven’t spoke to vic since thursday and i can’t remember if she was supposed to come back from her mom’s yesterday or today. and that there is no email, just makes me worry more.
i’m sure vic’s fine and i’m over-reacting. i haven’t started skimming the knoxville news. yet.
i’m supposed to go this pride party tonight, but i don’t want to go and have made contact with vic at all, so dilemmas, dilemmas.
i’m going to make a few calls. i’ll be back in a bit.

what saddens me is that this is so prevalent all over the caribbean, that people will automatically make assumptions about vic and i. i expect to hear at least one completely stupid fucking comment while she’s here.

i fell asleep early last night which in retrospect is a good thing. tonight is the pride party and these things usually go on til the wee hours of the morning. my plan for today is kind of laid back, drop off some stuff, come home and do some more work on the corporate identity, no massive amounts of blogging today.
i just finished watching the final qualifying for the french grand prix. after the amazing stories in the prequalifying, today’s session was quite tame. it’s interesting to see michael schuemaker struggling for position in what is one of the fastest cars on the track. the new rules for this season have made it quite interesting.
anyway i need to get cracking on some paying work. i’ll be back later.

vic will be in my arms. we may not be in private, but she’ll be in my arms and it’s the little things that count. i miss her. i miss sharing the simple stuff. curling up together, watching tv. tonight i would love to watching fireworks over vic’s shoulder.
