counting down

i made the first offical step to vic’s visit, i submitted my leave form, my boss is trying to ignore me but i’ll quit if she doesn’t give me the time off. i doubt it will come to that. things seem to be coming together for the visit, there are two things that haven’t been confirmed, i don’t want to say anything yet for fear of jinxing it.

it’s started raining here and i’m dressed for dry weather, i really wasn’t thinking when i was getting dressed for work, i’d love to skip through the puddles on my way home, but the last thing i want to do is get sick now. no rain doesn’t get you sick but the germs that are likely to be in the puddle might well do the job.

i have all this work to do and i’m waiting for that one spark to ignite, it could also be the fact that i’m hungry, i budgeted for getting paid this afternoon, all major indicators are pointing to thursday, so i have to figure out how i’m going to manage til then.

vic sent me this link from alternet (much as we’d like to think differently race will factor in our relationship)

on a lighter note (unless you were a former employee) an album of failed dot-coms farewell pages

and nerve has started their 6th anniversary special issue, up today is their 10 best personal essays (the link is on the front page, do you want me to do everything for you?)

time for me to get back to work. ciao.
